Is there anything missing from Banktastic?

I wanted to open the floor up to see what you all think might be missing from our community. We’re constantly working to make Banktastic better, so I wanted to see if you all had any thoughts on features or improvements. This can simply be us bouncing ideas off each other.

Being able to see who was logged in to Banktastic at any given time might be an interesting feature to see.
That way when I share an article and I see that there are 20 other people online, I know that I should probably hang around a bit to see what the immediate responses are.

Mike, I really like that idea! Keep em comin’!

I got an idea this afternoon – since so many Banktastic members use Twitter, what if we connected the two? My thought is have Banktastic auto-twitter each time you share news, ask a question or rate a vendor. I think that going into details of Bank’d and commenting may be overkill, but I like the idea of sharing what you’re doing on Banktastic with your Twitter friends. Maybe have the twitter say, “I just asked a question on Banktastic (tinyurl)” Eh? Eh?

Mike and Lisa, good ideas.
What I would like to see is a different formalized ways to invite fellow bankers.
For example, let’s say I just posted an article here, like one saying that TD Commerce Bank may add 300 more branches in the near future. I would like to be able to send this post to friends in banking and invite them to join and post their comments.
Now I need to go post that news story.

David,
I like that idea. That would be a great way to streamline sharing content & increasing membership. These are all great suggestions, so thank all of you for sharing!
Oh, and thanks for sharing that story, David. :)

The thing I don’t like about automated-Twittering is that it could become annoying or bothersome for someone’s Twitter followers if they went through and commented on a slew of articles, then all those messages went to Twitter.
Also, I prefer to keep my personal Twitter stream from as much automation as possible. I would rather use it as a form of communication, rather than as a broadcasting tool.
I do like the idea of finding a way to integrate with Twitter though. Maybe we just flat out need ‘Share This’ icons on each of the posts so that it makes it easy to also bookmark to del.icio.us, Facebook, etc., and all the links bring people back to Banktastic. One of those share links might also be ‘Twit This’, which I believe they have, that would allow you to Twitter about whatever question or article you were reading at that time.

@Dave and Mike – I’m going to combine and add your ‘share this’ ideas to our list of to-dos. I totally agree we need to not only be able to recommend to others within Banktastic but also outside as well. Great suggestions, keep them coming!
