User hierarchy: Need your feedback Brainiacs!
Brad G. asked about 1 month ago in The Banktastic Brains
Hey guys,
Wanted to ask for feedback on something that we are looking to change in the user structure. Right now, all groups (calling them networks now) you are apart of are aggregated through the account in Banktastic.com and if you want to see an individual network you go to that space by switching at the above bar. It works, ok, for now but this is what we’re trying to do.
We want to put the user at the center and have Banktastic.com as just another network they are apart of. Does that make sense? So we will have a ‘dashboard/view’ of sorts that is surrounded by the user and the networks and friends he’s connected with. Any thoughts on this?
Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks in advance for the feedback!

Does this mean that when we first log in all we see is ourself, the user, and then Banktastic.com plus Banktastic Brains are networks that we belong to? This would be different than now when we are logged into the Banktastic.com network by default.
Brad G.
That’s a great question. What network is your ‘default’ network? Would you want to decide as a user? Or since we do subdomains (ie. bank.banktastic.com) would it login to what subdomain you accessed? So if you went to the ‘www’ it would be www.banktastic.com as it is today.
Since we are making a push to these private networks banktastic.com will always been available but just as another network you can access and isn’t any different that the others. Make sense?

Brad,
If I had a private group here I would definitely want it to be “bank.banktastic.com” first then allow the user to switch over to www.banktastic.com when they wanted. If I log into www.banktastic.com first, the dashboard should show content from all networks (user selectable) and if I select a link that is in the private network I automatically switch over to it.

There may be even an institution that may want to block the main banktastic site 100% of the time or only open it up after hours. I think you should try to add some flexibility.

Great feedback David, thanks! What does everyone else think?
