Just curious, but what do you see as the benefits to LinkedIn integration? To me it seems like more trouble than it would be worth. If people want to link to their LinkedIn profile, they could just include that link as one of their websites.

Fair question. The benefits I see is to be able to bring that network, that many people use, closer to ours and overlap in some ways. So for example, people have spent alot of time filling out their profiles on LinkedIn and that same information applies over on our network. So why recreate the wheel is my thought. If we can use their information in the ‘profile creation’ process on Banktastic to import that data it would be helpful to the individual.

Also, we could begin doing cool stuff like seeing other members of the same companies that are on LinkedIn and could be invited to Banktastic.

Lastly, the vendors section could leverage LinkedIn to show how many people are apart of their company and could offer a bit of transparency to the person that is wanting to interact with that company or product.

But the question really is, is that of interest to you guys as community members? Or for potential new members coming on?

Linkedin, integration would be good but you really need a public API. In the meantime, you could make Linkedin more prominent in the profile area (if it is not already), you could also make a Banktastic group at Linkedin for now so we could have the Banktastic “B” on our Linkedin MyGroups.

Yeah, we'd like to integrate the two but Mark & Dave have done some research on LinkedIn and it doesn't look like they're offering much. Bleh.  But great idea on the inverse option through Linkedin, I'll look into it (unless you want to do it).

Fine by me. Everyone is accepting the right to showing their email addresses individually. I don’t have a problem w/ mine.

Thanks David!
